National Police Chief Distributes 50 Motorcycles to Three Regional Police Commands Affected by Flooding Disaster
Jakarta (ANTARA) — National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo has distributed 50 motorcycles each to three regional police commands affected by major flooding disasters in late 2025: the West Sumatra Regional Police Command (Polda Sumbar), North Sumatra Regional Police Command (Polda Sumut), and Aceh Regional Police Command.
The distribution was conducted symbolically as part of the 2026 Ketupat Operation parade held at Silang Monas field in Central Jakarta on Thursday.
Meanwhile, the National Police Traffic Corps Chief Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho stated that the motorcycle distribution is intended to optimise service delivery during the 2026 Ketupat Operation, which begins on Friday, 13 March and runs until 25 March 2026, across the three provinces.
“Certainly this is to optimise service provision during the Ketupat Operation, including service in locations that may be difficult to reach so that everyone can be served as part of the Ketupat Operation,” he said.
The two-star police general further stated that the Ketupat Operation is not merely a traffic operation to secure holiday travel flows, but also demonstrates how the National Police and the state are present to ensure that the social and spiritual moments of the religious holiday proceed safely.
“We are not only present on the roads, we do not merely regulate traffic, but we assure that the presence of National Police personnel ensures that those departing during the holiday exodus leave safely, arrive at their destination safely and happily, and return home safely,” he said.
He noted that there are five security clusters in this operation: toll roads, arterial roads, port crossing points (including terminals, airports, and railway stations), places of worship, and tourist attractions.
The security scenario, he added, has already been formulated by stakeholders. He expressed hope that this year’s operation will run better than in previous years.
“We seek blessings so that the 2026 Ketupat Operation runs better because the tagline for the Ketupat Operation is ‘Safe Holiday Travel, Happy Families’,” he said.
On Thursday, the TNI-Polri jointly with relevant stakeholders conducted a troop parade to ensure personnel readiness for the 2026 Ketupat Operation.
The 2026 Ketupat Operation will run for 13 days, from 13 March to 25 March 2026, involving 161,243 joint personnel.
The National Police has prepared 2,746 posts comprising 1,624 security posts, 779 service posts, and 343 integrated posts.
As information and service centres for travellers, security will also focus on 185,607 objects including mosques, Eid prayer locations, tourist attractions, shopping centres, terminals, ports, railway stations, and airports.
