National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo has emphasised his commitment to continue supporting workers’ causes, partly through the establishment of labour desks within the National Police (Polri).

General Sigit made this statement during his remarks at an iftar (breaking of fast) gathering with the All-Indonesia Workers’ Confederation (KSBSI) at the Tri Brata building in South Jakarta on Sunday (1 March 2026). The labour desk initiative is to be rolled out across all regional police areas.

“We from Polri, in accordance with our commitment to continue supporting our workers’ cause, particularly regarding guidance, assistance, and law enforcement, are implementing this through our labour desks,” General Sigit said.

The National Police Chief described the labour desks as essential for resolving worker complaints. He also emphasised that security within investment environments must be maintained.

“This is important so that complaints and problems experienced by workers can be addressed through the labour desk,” he stated.

“On the other hand, we also continue to encourage investment to remain protected, and security in investment environments must also be maintained. These are two things we must do,” he added.

The National Police Chief also stressed that the police will provide services to workers exercising their right to free expression, whilst emphasising the need to preserve national unity and cohesion.

“The police are also obliged to provide services regarding our rights to freedom of expression, but on the other hand I always remind everyone to protect our national unity and cohesion,” he said.
