Jakarta – National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo has emphasised the importance of synergy among all labour elements, including KSBSI (Confederation of All-Indonesia Labour Unions), in order to maintain unity, solidarity and public security and order.

“Stability in public security and order must be maintained because we can build and achieve growth only if security conditions are stable, as this is our fundamental capital,” Sigit said whilst attending a joint breaking-of-fast event with KSBSI at the Tribrata Building in South Jakarta on Sunday.

Sigit described the joint breaking-of-fast gathering as a platform for continuing to strengthen the relationship that has been established between labour unions and the National Police, particularly through the Labour Affairs Desk.

Sigit noted the increasingly unconducive global situation that has emerged recently. He argued that these conditions have the potential to trigger global tensions that could impact the domestic situation.

Therefore, according to Sigit, cooperation from all parties is needed to maintain economic growth within the country.

“One way is by promoting a conducive investment climate for both foreign and domestic investors. Naturally, this is part of our commitment to maintain economic growth and support the Astacita programme of the President,” he said.

Furthermore, Sigit assured that the National Police remain committed to supporting and overseeing labour elements in defending their rights. Most importantly, Sigit said, all must remain within the framework of unity and solidarity of the Indonesian nation.

“We must ensure that everything proceeds constructively so that we can maintain it, and most importantly, how we can continue to manage and protect unity and solidarity amid the global situation,” Sigit concluded.
