National Police Chief Calls for Unity: Police and Citizens Striving Together for Indonesia's Progress

National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo has urged unity amid uncertain global dynamics. The General stated that Polri and civil society can strive together for Indonesia’s advancement.

He conveyed this message during an iftar gathering with youth organisations and university students at the Mutiara Auditorium of STIK/PTIK in South Jakarta on Thursday, 26 February 2026. The Kapolri noted the necessity for shared responsibility across all elements of society in facing contemporary challenges.

“Polri and civil society will complement and strengthen each other, walking together and consolidating unity and integrity to realise a better future for Indonesia amidst various national challenges,” said General Sigit.

“Therefore, we require the role and shared responsibility of our youth and all segments of the nation to mutually support one another in facing challenges ahead, capitalising on the demographic dividend momentum,” he added.

The Kapolri emphasised that Polri and civil society hold equal positions. He encouraged young people to continue contributing to improvements in Indonesia.

“In facing this, we must certainly strive together, in accordance with each person’s expertise, in accordance with each person’s capabilities, in accordance with each person’s position, to jointly realise our shared vision of an Advanced Indonesia Moving Towards Golden Indonesia 2045,” explained the Kapolri.

General Sigit also expressed gratitude for feedback and criticism from the public towards Polri. He assured that his ranks would remain open to receiving every public aspiration.

The Kapolri stated that criticism from the public would serve as motivation for Polri to continue reforming and providing the best service to society.

“Therefore, we entrust you to safeguard and oversee our institution, the Polri institution, so that it can truly fulfil the mandate of reform, provide the best service to society, and continue to improve in line with public expectations,” he concluded.
