National Police Chief Calls for Unity and National Cohesion at Persis Brigade Training Event
National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo has called on the Islamic Union (Persis) Brigade to play an active role in maintaining national unity and cohesion. He made the remarks during the closing ceremony of the Komando Pusat Brigade Persis National Basic Training (Diklatsarnas) at the Brimob Training Centre in Cikeas, Bogor, on Monday. Sigit stated that unity and cohesion are key to ensuring the success of all government programmes and maintaining public security and order (kamtibmas). He expressed his hope that the Persis Brigade would work alongside the Indonesian National Police (Polri) to safeguard harmony and unity, and to support the realisation of all government programmes and a conducive security situation. According to him, preserving unity and improving the quality of human resources will support the realisation of the Golden Indonesia 2045 vision. Amid the challenges of information technology development, he also expressed hope that the Persis Brigade would become a pioneer in improving digital literacy within the community. The National Police Chief added that the closing of this basic training event also served to strengthen ties and synergy between the police, the Persis Brigade, and all elements of society. He noted that this reflects the police force’s commitment to continuously strengthen synergy with all levels of society, in line with the President’s message. During the event, Sigit also witnessed the pledge and oath-taking ceremony by all participants of the 2026 Persis Brigade Central Command National Basic Training. He concluded the event by striking a gavel on the podium three times.
