The National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, has invited all ranks and related agencies to support the success of the 2026 ‘Ketupat’ Operation. He emphasized that synergy and collaboration between institutions, as well as media support, are key to managing this year’s homecoming traffic.

This was conveyed by General Sigit at a breaking-of-the-fast event with media representatives at the National Police Headquarters, South Jakarta, on Wednesday (25/2/2026). General Sigit said that securing the homecoming travel is a national priority agenda and a shared task.

“Soon, we will all carry out humanitarian operations, the ‘Ketupat’ Operation, where we will face the homecoming traffic. And of course, this is a shared task, a task for all institutions, all related agencies,” he said.

General Sigit explained that homecoming has become a unique tradition of the Indonesian nation that is rarely found in other countries. Therefore, the National Police is committed to providing security to ensure that people can return to their hometowns feeling safe and happy.

“In this context, we must also provide assurance to the public so that they can travel safely, comfortably, and of course, it will be a source of happiness,” he added. This is in line with the 2026 homecoming tagline, namely ‘Safe Homecoming, Happy Family’.

In addition to security aspects, the former Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit highlighted the positive impact of homecoming on the national economy. He hopes that the mobilization of people from cities to villages can trigger economic growth in the regions.

“On the one hand, we also want this homecoming to really encourage the circulation of money from the center to the regions, which we hope will also have a multiplier effect for our people in the villages,” said General Sigit.

He asked all ranks to respond quickly to public complaints.

On the same occasion, General Sigit also instructed all of his ranks to be sensitive to public aspirations that emerge in the media, including during the homecoming period. He emphasized that no matter how small the information from the media, it is a cry from the public that must be immediately followed up.

“Please, all ranks, that no matter how small the voice from our friends (the media), it is a cry from the public, a complaint from the public, an aspiration from the public, which we must do quickly, respond quickly to address it,” he said.

General Sigit ensured that the National Police is ready to accept criticism and evaluation in order to improve services in the field. He also promised not to hesitate to take firm action against members who commit violations or violate public justice during their duties.
