National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo has assured the public that the government remains committed to maintaining subsidised fuel prices despite volatile global oil markets triggered by escalating conflict in the Middle East.

Listyo emphasised that government-level coordination has determined that citizens will not face increased fuel prices in the near term. “Alhamdulillah, various government measures addressing the potential for oil price increases have been discussed. The public need not worry, particularly regarding subsidised fuel prices that the government has maintained, including RON 92, RON 90, and diesel,” he said during a Ramadan pastoral visit at East Java Regional Police Headquarters on Saturday (14 March).

He urged citizens to remain calm and refrain from panic buying or hoarding fuel. According to him, fuel stocks and distribution have been managed to ensure adequate supply throughout Indonesia.

“The government will continue to provide subsidies so the public need not be overly concerned,” he stated.

Additionally, the National Police Chief outlined Indonesia’s strategic vision for maintaining food and energy security by reducing dependence on vulnerable global supply chains, promoting industrial downstream integration, and leveraging demographic dividends.

“On the other hand, we want to face everything together, and most importantly, when all the potential of our nation is united, we can move forward together and stand on our own feet by advancing the programmes of President Prabowo,” he concluded.
