The National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, conveyed an apology if any member of the Polri (Indonesian National Police) has undermined public justice. This apology was delivered during an iftar event with editors and members of the press.

“On this occasion, I would like to express my apology if, in our daily activities, there have been actions by our members, whether intentional or unintentional, that have undermined public justice. Therefore, we hereby apologise,” he said at Rupattama, Polri Headquarters, South Jakarta, Wednesday (25/2/2026).

General Sigit promised that if any personnel engage in actions that undermine public justice, especially if they constitute violations, the police will not hesitate to take firm action to safeguard the institution.

“This is a form of our commitment, the institution’s commitment to the public, to society, and to the press,” he said.

On that occasion, General Sigit also invited the Indonesian press to highlight the achievements of Polri personnel. He believes that this can be a source of motivation for Polri to work better.

“Because these things may seem simple, but for us, they are a very extraordinary source of motivation,” he said.

He also expressed his gratitude for the support of the media and the press. He asked them to work together to safeguard the Korps Bhayangkara (Police Force) institution.

“However, I also ask that we continue to work together to carry out the mandate of the institution, to carry out our main tasks in maintaining public order, enforcing the law, and maintaining security for our country so that it becomes better in the current situation of global uncertainty,” Sigit concluded.
