National Police Chief and Minister of Social Affairs Inspect Mudik Readiness at Merak Port via Aerial Survey
According to a statement confirmed in Jakarta on Friday, the National Police Chief used a helicopter to directly observe current conditions of Merak Port’s readiness to handle the Eid holiday exodus and return journey in 2026.
This aerial patrol was conducted to ensure preparedness for security measures and services during the Eid holiday exodus and return journey for the public.
Following the aerial patrol, the National Police Chief and other relevant stakeholders will conduct a coordination meeting at Merak Port to ensure the smooth operation of Operation Ketupat 2026.
Subsequently, they will conduct a direct inspection of ferries transporting residents to their respective hometowns.
Afterwards, they will provide symbolic distribution of basic provisions to officials, inspect unified security posts and disaster alert posts, and then engage directly with holiday travellers.
