National Police Chief: 80.6% Public Trust Result of Hard Work and Digitalised Services
National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo has stated that the 80.6% public trust rating for the police force, as recorded by a Kompas Research and Development survey, is the result of hard work and the digitalisation of services. He made the remarks during the 80th Bhayangkara Day commemoration ceremony at the Police Mobile Brigade Training Centre in Cikeas, Bogor, West Java, on Wednesday (1/7/2026).
General Sigit said the police force is continuously transforming to present a more humanist image. One such effort is changing the paradigm of policing public demonstrations to one of facilitating the expression of opinions. However, he stressed that firm, measured action will be taken against anarchist perpetrators to maintain public order and security.
He emphasised the commitment to ensuring domestic security so that the public can carry out their activities safely and comfortably. Citing the 2025 Global Safety Report by Gallup, he noted that 83% of Indonesians feel safe walking alone at night.
General Sigit highlighted that the public is increasingly feeling the benefits of the police’s work, pointing to the Kompas survey which showed an increase in public trust from 76.2% to 80.6%. He said the results serve as motivation to continue improving service quality to maintain conducive public order and security, in preparation for the demographic bonus momentum.
On digitalisation, the Chief explained that public access to police services has been expanded through the Polri Super Apps, which includes features for online police clearance certificates (SKCK), driver’s licence and vehicle registration renewals. In law enforcement, digitalisation is implemented through online and offline consultation services for criminal investigations. Oversight has been strengthened via the Dumas Presisi system, a whistleblowing system, and QR Code Propam placed in public facilities.
To ensure quick responses, the police have optimised the 110 emergency call service, which now operates in 34 regional police commands and 508 resort police stations, with a maximum response time of 10 seconds. Access to this service has also been enhanced through a live chat feature on the Super Apps platform.
The Kompas survey, conducted from 9 to 18 April 2026 with 1,200 respondents across 38 provinces, found that 80.6% of respondents rated the police’s performance as improving. When asked if they believed the police’s performance would get better in the future, 82.4% answered yes, 12.1% said no, and 5.5% did not know. The margin of error was 2.83% with a 95% confidence level.
