National one-way traffic engineering scheme to begin Wednesday afternoon

The Traffic Corps (Korlantas) of the National Police will implement nationwide one-way traffic engineering measures from KM 70 Cikampek through to KM 414 Kalikangkung beginning Wednesday afternoon.

“Tomorrow, possibly led directly by the Minister of Transportation as well, a flag-off ceremony for the national one-way homecoming traffic scheme will be held at 12:00 WIB,” said Head of the Traffic Corps (Kakorlantas) Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho at the Command Centre Post KM 29 Cikampek Toll Road, West Java, on Tuesday evening.

On Tuesday, he stated that Korlantas had already implemented the first phase of partial one-way arrangements on the national one-way route from KM 70 to KM 263 starting at 15:00 WIB.

“Based on directives from the National Police Chief, the Minister of Transportation, and discussions with the Director of Jasa Marga, we observed traffic surge starting at 12:00. For this reason, we immediately reported to the National Police Chief to take steps in accordance with the joint decision letter,” he explained.

He assured that the authorities would continue monitoring the situation on the ground. “If traffic peaks again tonight, we will coordinate with the Director of Jasa Marga. Should another surge occur, we may extend the one-way implementation. However, if traffic stabilises, we will continue to evaluate the situation,” he said.
