National One-Way System to Be Implemented Tomorrow, Note the Schedule
Jakarta – The Traffic Corps (Korlantas) of the Indonesian National Police will implement a nationwide one-way traffic system on Wednesday, 18 March, on the sixth day of Operation Ketupat 2026. The Head of Korlantas, Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho, stated that the policy was adopted following coordination with the Ministry of Transport and PT Jasa Marga regarding predictions of peak Mudik travel.
“I have coordinated with the Minister and the Director of Jasa Marga that the peak of the Mudik exodus is estimated to occur on 18 March. Therefore, on that date between 10:00 and 12:00, a nationwide one-way system for Mudik traffic will be implemented,” said Agus at the Km 57 A Rest Area on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road, West Java, on Monday evening, 16 March 2026.
He explained that the implementation of the nationwide one-way system remains situational and can be adjusted according to traffic conditions in the field.
“If, based on traffic technology infrastructure, conditions can be controlled, the policy can change to a nationwide one-way system or only partial one-way implementation in the first phase. We will announce this later,” he said.
Regarding the possibility of implementing a nationwide one-way system during the return journey, Agus stated that no decision has been made at present.
