National One-Way System from Km 70 to Km 414 on Trans-Java Toll Road Officially Implemented

A traffic engineering measure in the form of a national one-way system has been officially implemented on the Trans-Java Toll Road today. The national one-way system is in effect from Km 70 of the Jakarta-Cikampek (Japek) Toll Road to Km 414 of the Kalikangkung Toll Gate. According to the Instagram account of Korlantas Polri NTMC on Wednesday (18/3/2026), the national one-way system was introduced at 1:30 PM WIB. This implementation follows a flag-off ceremony by Transport Minister Dudy Purwagandhi. “At 1:30 PM WIB, the national one-way system will be enforced from Km 70 of the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road to Km 414 GT Kalikangkung,” states the post. Prior to the national one-way system, police first cleared the lanes and rest areas from the direction entering Jakarta. Vehicles heading towards Jakarta were diverted to arterial roads. Previously, the Head of the Indonesian National Police Traffic Corps (Kakorlantas) Polri, Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho, stated that the peak of the homecoming exodus is predicted to occur on 18 March. Therefore, the national one-way system is being implemented. “I have coordinated with the Minister and the President Director of Jasa Marga that the peak of the homecoming exodus is estimated for the 18th. So on the 18th, between 10:00 AM and 12:00 PM, we will implement the national one-way system for the homecoming flow,” said Inspector General Agus during an inspection at Km 57 A of the Jakarta-Cikampek (Japek) Toll Road on Monday (16/3). Inspector General Agus explained that his team is continuously monitoring the number of homecomers passing through. For the return flow, Inspector General Agus will assess traffic conditions before deciding on a one-way system or not. “When the traffic accounting technology infrastructure can be controlled, it might also change to a national one-way or a segmented one-way in the first phase, which we will certainly announce. However, the plan for the national one-way flag-off for the homecoming flow is on the 18th,” he added.
