National One-Way System for Return Traffic to Be Implemented on 24 March
Police have stated that the national one-way system on the Trans-Java Toll Road is planned to be implemented at the peak of return traffic on Tuesday (24/3).
“We will certainly implement the national one-way system for return traffic, which is scheduled in accordance with the instructions from the Chief of Police, and yesterday I reported to the Minister of Transportation, the Director of Jasa Marga, and Jasa Raharja; the plan is for us to launch it for return traffic on the 24th,” said the Head of Traffic Corps of the National Police, Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho, to reporters on Sunday (22/3).
Agus stated that before the implementation of the national one-way system at the peak of return traffic on 24 March, the police will apply several traffic engineering measures such as local one-way systems.
“From the 22nd and 23rd, we have already taken strategic steps. Whether on the 23rd we will implement a local one-way as the first stage, of course, we will formulate it accordingly soon,” he said.
He advised the public not to return home on 24 March to avoid vehicle build-up on the roads during the peak return traffic.
Agus asked the public to take advantage of the work from anywhere (WFA) policy.
“Please utilise work from anywhere on the 26th, 27th, and 28th; it is still work from anywhere. Perhaps you can return on the 26th or 27th,” he said.
