National One-Way from KM 459-70 Now in Effect for Return Traffic to Jakarta
The Trans-Java Toll Road heading towards Jakarta has implemented a one-way national traffic engineering scheme. This scheme runs from KM 459 to KM 70.
“One way is enforced from Salatiga to Cikampek Utama; for information, the one way is from KM 459 to KM 70,” said Jasa Marga officer Pingky on Tuesday (24/3), as reported by Detik.
This extension of the one way, according to Pingky, has been in place since Monday night. Currently, two one-way schemes are applied: national one way and local one way.
“National one way from Kalikangkung to Cikampek Utama, then local one way from Banyumanik to Salatiga,” Pingky stated.
She also confirmed that the national one way is already in effect from Kalikangkung to Cikampek Utama.
“Yes, it is in effect, precisely from KM 390 to KM 70,” said Pingky.
Previously, the Head of the National Police Traffic Corps (Kakorlantas) Polri Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho stated that the national one way would begin on Tuesday (24/3) at 14:00 WIB. This engineering is carried out to address the return flow of vehicles to Jakarta.
“The priority for high traffic is the national one-way return flow, which will be carried out tomorrow, 24th, at 14:00, with the flag-off directly led by the National Police Chief and several attending Ministers,” Agus said on Monday (23/3).
Preparations for the national one-way return flow had actually been underway since Monday. At 14:00 WIB on Monday, the National Police Traffic Corps held a partial national one way from KM 263 to KM 70 on the Cikampek Utama Toll Road.
According to Agus, the national one-way policy could be extended until 26 March, depending on traffic conditions on the toll road.
“When the traffic flow is low, we can manage it and possibly revoke it. Therefore, (those returning home) should not focus on the 24th, as it will cause build-up from KM 70 towards Jakarta. This is what we must anticipate so it can be resolved,” Agus stated.
