National Ojol Coalition Urges Drivers Not to Be Easily Provoked
The National Ojol Coalition (KON) has urged online motorcycle taxi (ojol) drivers not to be provoked by false information circulating on social media regarding a planned action on 27 August 2026. KON stated it is not involved in the planned action.
“Do not let fellow ojol drivers be easily provoked by provocation and untrue information, because in the end it can harm ourselves. Let us maintain unity and conduciveness in our respective areas,” said KON Secretary-General Juwel Safriko Hutasoit, also known as Papa Deon, as quoted by Antaranews on Wednesday (26/8/2026).
Papa Deon made the statement while meeting with ojol drivers from Sidoarjo, Surabaya, and Pasuruan during the ‘Ngopi Bareng Ojol Surabaya Raya’ event in Sidoarjo, East Java.
According to him, drivers need to respond to every piece of information wisely, especially regarding invitations to join the action on 27 August 2026.
Papa Deon asked drivers not to make decisions based on information whose source and truthfulness are unknown. He said any circulating news should be confirmed first.
In the meeting led by KON Presidium Chairman Andi Kristiyanto, KON also provided understanding regarding the partnership status between ojol drivers and app operators.
Drivers hope the partnership scheme will be maintained with policies that provide certainty and a sense of fairness.
Drivers from the three regions agreed to maintain conduciveness and not be easily provoked. They also encouraged the resolution of various ojol issues through communication and dialogue.
KON hopes the activity will strengthen solidarity and communication among ojol drivers in the Greater Surabaya area and its surroundings.
