National Off-Road Championship Provides 'Multiplier Effect' for Central Kalimantan
Palangka Raya (ANTARA) - The National Adventure Off-Road Championship Round II, Piala Gubernur Kalimantan Tengah (Kalteng), and Tangkiling Off-road Extreme 4 held at the Sukamulya Circuit, Tangkiling, Palangka Raya, on Saturday, have provided a multiplier effect for the region.
“In addition to its sporting aspect, this national championship serves as a strategic means to introduce the tourism potential and natural beauty of Central Kalimantan at the national level,” said Kalteng Governor Agustiar Sabran during the event.
Agustiar, who also serves as the supervisor of the Indonesian Off-Road Federation (IOF) branch, stated that the presence of participants and crews from various regions in Indonesia has positively impacted the economic activity of local communities, particularly micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) around the event location.
Regarding the development of off-road sports in Central Kalimantan, the event is also considered an opportunity for local off-road enthusiasts to enhance their skills and gain experience by competing with national racers.
“Through this event, local off-roaders can hone their abilities, develop their competitive spirit, and learn from the national racers present,” said Agustiar.
The Governor hopes that all participants will also take away positive impressions during their stay in Central Kalimantan. Meanwhile, the national off-road championship was participated by 49 off-roaders from various regions, including Sumatra, Java, Sulawesi, Bali Nusa Tenggara Barat, and Papua. The championship featured four classes: G1 with engines of 1000cc, G2 with engines of 1000-2500cc, G3 with engines of 2500-3000cc, and class G4 with a maximum engine capacity of 8000cc.
