National Nutrition Board Strengthens Data Validation for Free Nutritious Meal Programme Recipients, Involving Schools and Local Authorities
Jakarta – The National Nutrition Board (BGN) is continually strengthening data validation of beneficiaries of the Free Nutritious Meal Programme (MBG) to ensure all target groups receive services accurately and equitably. These efforts are carried out through cross-ministerial and inter-agency coordination involving various stakeholders from central to local levels.
Deputy Head of the BGN, Sony Sonjaya, stated that the validation process is currently conducted through coordination meetings attended by representatives of ministers, directors-general, and officials from the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Ministry of Religious Affairs, Ministry of Population and Family Development, Ministry of Home Affairs, and the Ministry of Social Affairs. He noted that the initiative also receives full support from the Presidential Staff Office (KSP).
“Data validation of beneficiaries is our priority to ensure the MBG Programme implementation is increasingly targeted. In addition to data integration from various data custodians, we also conduct direct verification from the grassroots level to ensure the data used is truly accurate,” said Sony in a statement on Tuesday, 2 June 2026.
Verification is carried out through coordination between Sub-District Development Facilitator Coordinators (SPPI) and village heads and chiefs. Through this mechanism, data collection and cross-referencing are conducted for pregnant women, nursing mothers, toddlers, students from early childhood education through upper secondary school, and students in Islamic boarding schools.
As a form of transparency, the results of beneficiary data validation can now be accessed by the public through the dashboard at validasidatapm.bgn.go.id. The BGN encourages school heads, health post managers, village heads, village chiefs, sub-district heads, and local government heads to actively verify data in their respective areas.
“If there are pregnant women, nursing mothers, toddlers, students, or pesantren residents who have not yet been registered or have not received MBG services, this information can be immediately reported to the BGN through the Sub-District SPPI Coordinator or WhatsApp hotline 0851-1139-4466,” said Sony.
Sony explained that the beneficiary data currently in use represents the results of initial data collection conducted from May to July 2024. During that period, the data collection process involved military village liaison officials and was conducted hierarchically up to the military command level before being handed over to the MBG Programme implementation preparation team.
