National Nutrition Agency to Recruit Nutritionists and Health Experts for 7 Advisory Board Seats

The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) plans to fill the currently vacant positions on its Advisory Board. Several figures with expertise in nutrition and public health will be involved to provide strategic recommendations regarding the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme.

BGN Deputy Head Agustina Arumsari stated that the existence of the Advisory Board is already stipulated in the regulations establishing the BGN. However, to date, these positions have not been filled.

“We will fill several positions with people who understand nutrition and public health,” Sari said at the BGN office in Central Jakarta on Thursday (18/6/2026).

According to her, the presence of the Advisory Board is needed to provide input to the BGN in formulating targeted nutritional intervention policies. The recommendations from these experts will serve as a reference for implementing national nutrition fulfilment programmes.

“From them, recommendations will emerge for us on what we should do to intervene in nutrition under these conditions,” she said.

Sari revealed that the Advisory Board structure already exists in the presidential regulation that forms the basis for the BGN’s establishment. However, no figures have been appointed to fill these positions to date.

“For now, it has never been filled, but the structure actually already exists according to the presidential regulation on the BGN,” she explained.

She noted that within the BGN’s organisational structure, there are seven Advisory Board positions to be filled. “There are seven positions,” she continued.

She confirmed that the BGN will soon prepare to fill these posts. This step is being taken to strengthen the governance and policy quality of the institution, which now manages the MBG programme nationally.
