National Nutrition Agency to Open 480 Nutrition Service Units in Eastern Indonesia, Warns Against Middlemen
The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) has reaffirmed that the determination and activation process for Nutrition Service Units (SPPG) is conducted solely through the agency’s internal systems and databases. BGN ensured that it does not grant authority to any other party, whether associations or individuals, to manage or promise the activation process of SPPG on behalf of the institution.
This clarification comes alongside plans to activate 480 SPPGs in the Eastern region of Indonesia, scheduled to commence on 2 October 202/6. These hundreds of units are spread across 16 provinces and 116 regencies/cities. Of the total 480 SPPGs to be activated, 211 are independent partners, while the remaining 269 are remote service units.
Activation Conducted Directly by BGN
Head of BGN, Sudaryono, stated that the activation process is carried out directly by the BGN. In its implementation, the agency will prioritise SPPGs deemed ready to operate. Sudaryono explained that BGN will contact the relevant partners, after which the agency will appoint SPPG heads and activate virtual accounts (VA) according to established mechanisms.
“No party is authorised by us to assist us, contact anyone, or act as a broker for BGN to activate these kitchens,” Sudaryono said in Jakarta on Thursday, 1 October 2026. He emphasised that the entire process is conducted by BGN through predetermined mechanisms. Consequently, parties outside of BGN have no authority to offer services for managing SPPG activation.
“BGN itself will contact the partners, appoint the SPPG heads, and activate the VAs,” he added.
SPPG Selection Not Determined by External Parties
Sudaryono also stressed that the determination of which SPPGs will be activated first is not based on decisions from external parties. According to him, the process refers to the systems and databases owned by BGN, taking into account regional needs and priorities.
Under this mechanism, the sequence of SPPGs opened or activated cannot be determined by associations, individuals, or any other parties outside of BGN’s official mechanism. “Once again, the determination of which units are opened first and which are later is determined by our system and our database,” said Sudaryono.
