REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANDUNG - The Head of the National Nutrition Agency, Dadang Hindayana, has praised the Central Executive Board of Persatuan Islam (PP Persis) for supporting the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme. Persis is a key supporter of the priority programme of the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, which was launched on 6 January 2025. “The Persis Service Unit for Nutritional Fulfillment (SPPG) in Garut is one of the supporters of the MBG programme. Persis was part of the launch event on 6 January 2026. The BGN is very pleased that Persis is our best partner,” said Dadang, when attending the inauguration of the Persis Service Unit for Nutritional Fulfillment (SPPG), at the SPPG Ciganitri kitchen, Bojongsoang, Bandung Regency, on Monday (23 February 2026). Both personally and as an institution, Dadan expressed his gratitude to Persis, which, through its partnership programme, has built the SPPG kitchen. To date, Persis continues to build SPPG kitchens in several locations. The BGN expressed great interest after seeing the process carried out by the PP Persis through the Sabaris Insan Madani Foundation. This is because Persis is considered to be very serious in building the SPPG kitchen, prioritising quality and professionalism. “Currently, there are 24,000 SPPGs throughout Indonesia. This figure has emerged thanks to the excellent partnership with community elements. Because if we were to build them ourselves, it would not be possible to do so this quickly,” he said. The Chairman of the PP Persis, KH. Jeje Zaenudin, said that Persis welcomes the MBG programme. According to him, there are seven points that make Persis welcome the MBG programme. “Among these is that the MBG is a programme of da’wah bilhal, not just about food, but also about educating on the proper etiquette and patterns of eating. Awareness in eating is a blessing from Allah SWT,” said KH Jeje. In addition, the MBG programme is a medium for da’wah bilhal, instilling responsibility in the SPPG staff. The food must be healthy, delicious and beneficial. There must be no irregularities or mistakes. “Another point is that the MBG empowers the potential in the immediate environment,” he added. Jeje said that the next point is the formation of character and discipline, especially Islamic etiquette and ethics in eating. Education on etiquette and ethics is based on the philosophy of eating according to the body’s needs, not desires. “Finally, it is about strengthening the economic independence of the jamiyyah, especially the Islamic boarding schools. Therefore, Persis’s SPPG is built on the basis of Islamic boarding schools,” he said. He said that Persis is committed to making this good programme a success and ensuring that it is implemented correctly so that there is no misunderstanding in the community. “Persis’s contribution is to make the programme a success and to ensure that it is well received by the community, and that it is carried out responsibly, which will produce very good results,” he said.
