National Nutrition Agency Office Reported Undergoing Search, Employees Barred from Building
The Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung) reportedly conducted a search at the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) office in Kebon Sirih, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday (3/6). Observations at the location showed several BGN employees waiting outside the office premises during working hours. Staff arriving at the site were instructed to disembark and wait outside the building pending further instructions. According to information obtained on-site, employees were not permitted to enter the office due to ongoing activities involving the Attorney General’s Office.
A security officer stated that the team from the Attorney General’s Office had been on-site since approximately 02:00 WIB. As of the morning, office services were suspended while employees awaited further developments. By 09:00, employees continued to arrive but were unable to enter, and members of the media were also barred from entering the gates. Neither the BGN nor the Attorney General’s Office has provided a response regarding the search. Efforts to contact the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes, Febrie Adriansyah, and the Director of Investigation, Syarief Sulaeman Nahdi, have so far been unsuccessful.
This search follows President Prabowo Subianto’s decision to remove the Head of the BGN, Dadan Hindayana. The Minister of State Secretary, Prasetyo Hadi, stated that allegations regarding the alleged buying and selling of Nutrition Service Fulfillment Units (SPPG) within the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme are currently undergoing an internal audit. Speaking at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Tuesday (2/6), Prasetyo noted that this is part of the government’s continuous monitoring and evaluation process.
Prasetyo stated that the government is working to improve and optimise the BGN’s performance. He noted that the leadership change was based on several considerations, including issues regarding discipline in following Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), governance, and maintaining food quality standards. Despite the leadership changes, the Minister ensured that the Free Nutritious Meal programme would continue without disruption to beneficiaries. On Tuesday, President Prabowo rotated the BGN leadership, replacing Dadan Hindayana with Naniek S. Deyang, the former Deputy Head of the BGN. Additionally, Lodewyk Pusung and Sonny Sonjaya were removed from their deputy positions, with Agustina Arumsari and Mayjen TNI Trenggono appointed as the new Deputy Heads.
