National Nutrition Agency Inspects 5,355 Service Units; Sudaryono Asserts Corruption Indications Will Lead to Dismissal of Kitchen Heads

The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) is currently conducting follow-up inspections of 5,355 Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) that have been indicated to have committed violations based on audit results from the Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung). From the thousands of service units being inspected, the BGN has asserted that it will not tolerate violations that lead to criminal acts of corruption.

BGN Head Sudarylarono stated that the follow-up inspections are being carried out after his agency received the classification of SPPG data based on the Attorney General’s audit working papers. This audit serves as the basis for the BGN to follow up on alleged violations occurring in several SPPG units.

According to Sudaryono, the purpose of this inspection is to ensure whether the discovered violations are merely administrative in nature or if they contain elements of intent that could lead to criminal offences.

Attorney General’s Audit Examines 16,482 SPPG

Sudaryono explained that the Attorney General’s Office has conducted inspections of 16,482 SPPG across various regions. From that total, 5,355 SPPG fall into the category requiring deeper investigation due to indications of violations ranging from light to severe levels.

“There is a full list. There are red, yellow, and green categories. Out of the 16,482 inspected, we are currently looking more deeply into 5,355 of them,” said Sudaryono, as quoted on Saturday, 1 August 2026.

He explained that the audit results have grouped each SPPG based on the level of violation to facilitate the evaluation process and the determination of further actions.

BGN Investigating Presence of Intentional Elements

Sudaryono emphasised that the primary focus of the follow-up inspection is to determine whether there is an element of ‘mens rea’ or the intent to commit a violation. He noted that the BGN aims to identify whether there are parties intending to misuse the budget or take unlawful profits.

“We are checking whether, within the Attorney General’s audit working papers, there are kitchens that, through mens rea, intended to steal or embezzle money. We will resolve all of this,” he stated.

The inspection will serve as the basis for determining the type of sanctions to be imposed on both the SPPG and the kitchen heads proven to have committed violations.

Approximately 800 SPPG Already Closed

In his statement, Sudaryono also revealed that the BGN has previously taken action against hundreds of SPPG units that were proven to have committed violations.
