National Nutrition Agency Addresses Rumours of Nutrition Service Unit Shutdown Due to Unpaid Funds
The Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Nanik S. Deylam, has addressed rumours concerning the Nutrition Fulfilment Service Units (SPPG) allegedly ceasing operations because budgets have not yet been released. Nanik explained that operational funds for each Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) kitchen or SPPG have been disbursed since Friday, 5 June 2026.
“There is a part of this that is hoax, and a part that is true; everything has been disbursed since Friday. The 27,877 units mentioned have already received funds and are operational,” Nanik told reporters at the Presidential Palace Complex in Central Jakarta. Nanik further clarified that while some SPPG funds were released on Friday, the remainder was scheduled for disbursement on Monday, 8 June 2026. She noted that approximately Rp5 trillion was reported to be disbursed on that day.
Furthermore, Nanik emphasised that the situation does not constitute a major issue, describing it merely as a technical matter.
Previously, it was reported that President Prabowo Subianto inaugurated Nanik S. Deyang as the Head of the National Nutrition Agency at the State Palace, Jakarta, on Monday, 8 June 2026. Nanik succeeds Dadan Hindayana in the position. Alongside Nanik, President Prabowo also inaugurated Agustina Arumsari and Trenggono as Deputy Heads of the BGN. The appointments were made based on Presidential Decree 18/M of 2026 regarding the dismissal and appointment of the Head and Deputy Heads of the BGN, as well as the dismissal of the Deputy Head of the BPKP.
