The exhibition, held in the former Plaza Semarang parking area at Simpang Lima, Semarang, involved 150 Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise (MSME) tenants.

The Head of the Central Java Provincial Industry and Trade Office (Disperindag), July Emmylia, stated that the total transactions consisted of retail transactions worth IDR 2,385,574,640 and orders amounting to IDR 23,651,000.

“It is hoped that this exhibition will serve as a promotion for the community’s economy,” said Emmy in a written statement on Saturday (19/9/2026).

This was conveyed during her report at the Closing Ceremony of the 31st National MTQ Exhibition in Semarang. According to her, several business collaborations arising from the exhibition demonstrate that product promotion activities should not cease once the exhibition closes.

One established partnership involves PT Yuasa Food Berkah Makbar with the Polytechnic of the Ministry of Health Tasikmalaya. Both parties are collaborating on the provision of stunting prevention food and emergency food for natural disasters, with a contract value of IDR 5 billion over a two-year period.

Other collaborations involved several Central Javanese MSMEs. Abel Etnic Solo entered into an agreement with Friny Collection from Riau for the provision of copper and stone accessories worth IDR 300 million with a five-year contract.

Furthermore, CV Hury Accessories Kebumen partnered with CV Naturaline Boyolali for product bundling sales worth IDR 500 million under a five-year contract.

Tifani Batik Pekalongan also secured several agreements, including the provision of jintri seeds worth IDR 300 million, as well as the supply of perfumes and aromatherapy worth IDR 360 million.

Meanwhile, Segar Asem Semarang established a partnership for the provision of traditional beverage products with Oleh-oleh Kampung Joglo Malioboro Yogyakarta worth IDR 30 million. A similar partnership was formed with Oleh-oleh 52 Grup Semarang, with a value reaching IDR 1.05 billion.

Emmy noted that during the exhibition, business actors were encouraged not only to sell but also to build networks, exchange business contacts, collect customer databases, create content, and optimise social media.

The exhibition also opened international market opportunities. Emmy mentioned that several overseas buyers showed interest in Central Javanese MSME products.

One such buyer from Brazil expressed interest in 6,460 sheets of pandan mats, with a potential contract value of approximately IDX 4.56 billion. Interest in Central Javanese MSME products also came from buyers from Nigeria, India, and the United States.

Over the eight-day period, the exhibition was visited by approximately 80,000 people. Enthusiasm remained high until the final night. The 150 participating booths consisted of 24 provincial booths, 70 regency/city booths, 20 culinary booths, 10 partner booths, 12 ministry booths, and 14 independent booths.

The Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Central Java Province, Sumarno, stated that the transaction achievements and collaborations are expected to serve as a starting point for MSMEs to expand their markets.

“On behalf of the Central Java Provincial Government, I express my gratitude for your participation, ensuring that this side event of the MTQ, in the form of an exhibition, ran smoothly,” said Sumarno.

He noted that the government has a role in facilitating MSMEs to continue growing. One of the greatest challenges to address is not only producing quality products but also expanding marketing reach.

“This exhibition is one way for us to help our brothers and sisters market their products,” said Sumarno.

He hoped that the transactions and collaborations formed during the exhibition would not end after the event. The networks established are expected to evolve into broader business relationships.

Sumarno reminded that the exhibition is part of the National MTQ series. Therefore, amidst the emerging economic activity, he hoped the MTQ implementation would also encourage the community to grow closer to the Al-Qur’an.
