National Licence Exposed, Pusat Gadai Expands into Mobile Phone and Gold Pawnbroking

The Founder & CEO of Pusat Gadai Indonesia (PGI), Andrew Susanto, stated that the purpose of PGI’s presence is as a private pawnshop offering pawn services for electronic products and vehicle ownership documents (BPKB). As a pioneer in electronic goods pawn services, PGI offers the advantage of a high Loan to Value (LTV) ratio as its main attraction. Observing the vast pawn market in the country, PGI is expanding its services to include gold products. Amid current economic pressures and weakening purchasing power, the pawn business is actually experiencing pressure, but the increase in electronics prices of up to 30%, which can boost loan values, has also contributed to an improvement. Currently, PGI has branch offices in Java and Sumatra, with the number of outlets reaching 1,000 after 20 years of operation. Therefore, PGI fully supports the strengthening of pawnshop business regulations to provide security and business certainty for entrepreneurs and customers.
