National Library of Indonesia Secures Unqualified Opinion for Tenth Consecutive Year

The National Library of Indonesia (Perpusnas) has once again received an Unqualified Opinion (WTP) from the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) for its 2025 financial report, marking a full decade of maintaining the highest standard of public financial accountability.

Head of Perpusnas, E. Aminudin Aziz, stated in Jakarta on Friday that the WTP opinion reflects the commitment of the entire institution to conducting governance in accordance with applicable regulations. “This is a manifestation of our collective commitment to work according to the rules and provide adequate reporting. It is a principle we uphold at Perpusnas, proven through the documentation of every activity,” he said.

He emphasised that the WTP opinion is not merely an administrative accolade but a form of recognition for the accountability of programme implementation and financial management. “This proves recognition from the BPK as the state auditor that the programmes implemented by Perpusnas demonstrate accountable and trustworthy conditions. It means we continuously strive to ensure that every rupiah spent can be properly accounted for,” Aminudin added.

The success in maintaining the WTP opinion for a decade is attributed to collaboration across all elements of Perpusnas, including leadership, staff, and partners. “We work as a large team. Assistance provided to partners must be genuinely beneficial and accountable according to its purpose. This is a shared commitment to implementing programmes responsibly and reliably,” he explained.

Despite the positive audit result, Perpusnas remains committed to following up on all recommendations made by the BPK as part of continuous improvement efforts. One recommendation related to expenditure recording at the Centre for Preservation and Media Transfer of Library Materials has been addressed through administrative refinements.

Furthermore, Perpusnas is strengthening the governance of state asset recording derived from the implementation of the Legal Deposit of Printed and Recorded Works (SSKCKR) by developing a system to enhance publisher compliance. This initiative has been socialised with publishers and relevant partners to improve administrative order and reinforce state asset management.
