The government will reopen the National Internship Programme (PMN) Batch 4 starting July 2026. The programme, aimed at recent university graduates, targets reaching up to 150,000 participants throughout 2026 across three waves.

Acting Deputy for Partnership and Media Relations at the Government Communication Agency (Bakom RI), Kurnia Ramadhana, stated that the first wave beginning in July aims to recruit around 50,000 participants. “Programme Magang Nasional Batch 4 will be implemented in stages starting July 2026, with an initial plan of around 50,000 participants in the first wave, followed by second and third waves to reach a total of 150,000 participants by year-end,” Kurnia said during a press conference on Wednesday, 24 June 2026.

The programme has garnered broad support from various sectors. In total, there are 8,056 partner organisations, comprising 5,168 private companies and 2,888 government ministry and agency work units. Kurnia explained that the number of partner companies has increased with each batch of the programme. “Of all partners, 874 state-owned enterprise (BUMN) entities are participating as organising partners,” he added.

Based on industry mapping, state-owned banking is the largest contributor, providing 1,033 internship programmes. This is followed by private hospitals (191 programmes), management consulting (168 programmes), food and beverage trading (167 programmes), and the property and asset management industry (151 programmes).

Kurnia explained that the registration process begins with companies and government agencies opening internship vacancies and submitting their position requirements. Prospective participants can then register through the MagangHub platform by selecting up to two positions that match their interests and field of expertise. “Prospective participants register through the MagangHub platform at maganghub.kemnaker.go.id, by choosing a maximum of two internship positions according to their interests and expertise,” he said.

After registration, companies will conduct the selection process and announce recruitment results through the same platform. Successful candidates will then sign an Internship Agreement and undergo a six-month internship period. During the six-month internship, participants will receive several benefits, including a monthly allowance equivalent to the provincial or municipal minimum wage (UMP/UMK), social security coverage, and an official internship certificate. Participants also have a significant opportunity to be directly absorbed as permanent employees at the companies where they intern.
