National Internship Programme Participants to Receive Salaries of Rp3.5-6 Million

The 2026 National Internship Programme (PMN) launched by the government offers participants a monthly salary ranging from Rp3.5 million to Rp6 million, depending on the minimum wage of the regency or city where they are placed.

"During the internship, participants receive a salary of around Rp3.5 to Rp6 million per month, depending on the minimum wage of the regency or city where they work," said Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya in a post on the @sekretariat.kabinet Instagram account, quoted on Tuesday (30/6).

Teddy noted that 30 percent of the 100,000 participants in the government-run National Internship Programme secured employment immediately. "Interestingly, according to Ministry of Manpower data from 2025, after the internship programme concluded, around 30 percent, or 30,000 of the 100,000 participants, were immediately hired as permanent employees," Teddy said.

He added that another 30 percent of participants are currently awaiting job offers within the next two to three months. Teddy stated that these figures demonstrate the programme serves as a bridge for university graduates to enter the workforce and earn an income directly.

He said that one of the government’s longstanding challenges has been ensuring that bachelor’s degree graduates can immediately find work and earn a living. "This means the programme is a tangible bridge for graduates to directly work and earn an income," he remarked.

Teddy said the PMN is one of the government’s efforts to address this issue. He also noted that this year, the programme is recruiting not only bachelor’s degree graduates but also vocational school graduates and persons with disabilities.

"Last year in 2025, there were already 100,000 interns placed in 8,800 private companies and state-owned enterprises, and this year the number is increasing to 150,000 participants," he said.
