National Internship Programme Helps Participants Secure Permanent Jobs, Says Bakom RI

The Government Communication Agency (Bakom RI) has stated that the National Internship Programme has had a positive impact on participants, not only improving their economic standing but also helping them secure permanent employment after graduating from higher education.

Acting Deputy for Partnership and Media Relations at Bakom RI, Kurnia Ramadhana, said in a press conference in Jakarta on Wednesday that this is reflected in the evaluation results of the first batch of the National Internship Programme, which successfully recruited 102,600 participants across Indonesia.

“Approximately 5,063 individuals were directly offered employment, either as permanent employees or contract workers, by the companies where they interned,” Kurnia explained.

According to the evaluation results completed by 16,112 participants from Batch I and IB via the MagangHub application, 5,063 participants, or around 34 percent of the total respondents, received job offers after their internship period ended. The National Internship Programme Batch I concluded on 19 April 2026, whilst Batch IB ended on 23 April 2026.

He noted that post-programme evaluation and monitoring for Batches II and III are still ongoing, as each wave only concluded on 23 May 2026 and 16 June 2026 respectively.

Kurnia also presented other evaluation results using a sample of 65,245 participants from the first batch who completed evaluation forms through the MagangHub application. Beyond improving welfare, the National Internship Programme has also proven to enhance participants’ competencies. Based on evaluations completed by 22,297 programme mentors, 66.55 percent of participants were assessed to have experienced significant improvement in technical competencies during the programme.

“Improvements were also recorded in communication skills, teamwork, problem-solving, critical thinking, adaptability, and technical skills relevant to their field of work,” he explained.
