National Internship Programme Eases Industry Access to Job-Ready Talent, Says Minister

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Manpower Minister Yassierli has stated that the National Internship Programme (MagangHub) serves as a more effective recruitment mechanism for businesses to obtain talent suited to industry needs. “Based on feedback from company management, the National Internship Programme provides tangible benefits. Companies have the opportunity to mentor, guide, and directly assess the competence of prospective workers before deciding to hire them as employees,” the minister said in an official statement received in Jakarta on Tuesday. He assessed that workplace learning allows companies to gain a more complete picture of participants’ competencies and readiness before recruitment. “The National Internship Programme provides greater certainty for companies in acquiring talent that matches industry requirements,” Yassierli said. The Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) professor also noted that the programme benefits new graduates, particularly those without work experience, by providing them with real-world industry exposure. Through this programme, he continued, participants can enhance their competencies, build a work ethic, and simultaneously increase their chances of being recruited as employees. Furthermore, Minister Yassierli added that the successful absorption of internship alumni into the workforce demonstrates the importance of strengthening synergy between the government, businesses, and educational institutions in building an employment ecosystem that is adaptive to industry demands. “Thus, company productivity increases, while graduates have greater opportunities to obtain decent work,” he added.
