National Internship Programme Batch 3 Second Intake to Reopen in October with 70,000 Vacancies

The Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker) is preparing approximately 70,000 vacancies for the second intake of the National Internship Programme Batch 3, with registration set to open in October 2026.

Darmawansyah, the Director General of Vocational Training and Productivity Development at Kemnaker, stated that registration for participating companies will commence in September 2026.

“For Batch 3, all vacancies are provided by companies. There are no vacancies from ministries or government agencies,” Darmawansyah said in Jakarta on Wednesday.

He noted that the registration and selection process for participants will take place in October, before the programme officially commences with a kickoff in November.

Darmawansyah confirmed that the allowances for Batch 3 interns will remain fully covered by the government. Participating companies are not required to contribute to the participants’ pocket money.

Kemnaker noted that out of approximately 100,000 graduates from the 2025 National Internship Programme, 60,000 underwent internships within companies or industries. Of that number, nearly 50 per cent, or about 30,000 graduates, have been absorbed into the workforce.

The National Internship Programme will continue into 2026. In Batch 1, 46,000 participants took part in the programme, while in Batch 2, 40,962 participants were declared successful after passing the selection process.

The government aims for the total number of participants in the 2026 National Internship Programme to reach 150,000 people across three batches.

Kemnaker stated that it will continue to conduct regular evaluations to measure the benefits of the internship, including improvements in competence, work experience, and the professional development of participants after completing the programme.
