National Informatics Competition Produces Innovative Digital Talents

Bandung State Polytechnic (Polban) successfully secured the Overall Champion title at the 8th National Polytechnic Informatics Student Competition (KMIPN VIII) 2026, which officially concluded at the Ujung Pandang State Polytechnic (PNUP) Campus 2, Makassar, on Friday night (11/09/2026).

The championship title was announced by the Chairman of the KMIPN VIII Jury Board, Prof. M. Udin Harun Al-Rasyid, following the completion of final rounds across eight ICT competition categories by participants from various polytechnics across Indonesia. The eight competing categories included Hackathon, Cybersecurity, E-Government, ICT Business Planning, Animation, Internet of Things (IoT), ICT Innovation, and Game Application Development.

The Deputy Director of Academic Affairs at PNUP, Prof. Ahmad Rizal Sultan, expressed appreciation for the works and innovations presented by vocational digital talents throughout the competition, which began its final rounds on Wednesday (09/09/2026). “The implementation of KMIPN VIII serves not only as a space for students to compete and test their abilities in information technology but also as a national collaborative platform to produce innovative young digital talents,” stated Ahmad Rizal in a press release on Monday (14/09/2026).

In addition to the announcement of winners, the closing of KMIPN VIII 2026 was marked by the handover of hosting responsibilities. The Chairman of the Forum of ICT Department Heads of Polytechnics across Indonesia, Ir. H. Sony Oktapriandi, officially designated Bengkalis State Polytechnic as the host for KMIPN IX in 2027.
