The National Human Rights Commission (Komnas HAM) has sought statements from the Metro Jaya Regional Police (Polda Metro Jaya) regarding the acid attack case on Deputy Coordinator of Kontras, Andrie Yunus, on Monday (30/3/2026). This step was taken to further investigate the terror case against the human rights activist.

Komnas HAM’s Monitoring and Investigation Commissioner, Saurlin P Siagian, stated that there is no difference in the perpetrators between the TNI and police versions in handling the case. This means the acid attackers are the same individuals according to both versions.

“Based on the initials they provided and the substance of the individuals, I think there is no difference in the people,” Saurlin said in Jakarta on Monday.

According to him, Polda Metro Jaya stated that the acid attackers on Andrie numbered four people from the TNI’s Strategic Intelligence Agency (Bais). This information aligns with the statements from the TNI’s Centre for Military Police (Puspom) during their press conference.

Regarding the differences in initials between the TNI and police versions of the perpetrators, Saurlin admitted to confirming this with Polda Metro Jaya. According to him, the difference is not substantial. This means the perpetrators in the TNI and police versions are the same people.

“The difference in initials we confirmed is not a significant difference; they said it’s the same people, something like that,” Saurlin said.
