Penajam Paser Utara (ANTARA) - Public facilities and spaces in the Core Government Centre Area (KIPP) of the Nusantara Capital (IKN) in Sepaku Subdistrict, Penajam Paser Utara Regency, East Kalimantan Province, will be opened to the general public during national holidays.

“During the national holiday period, the general public can enjoy various facilities and public spaces in KIPP IKN,” said Deputy for Development Control of the IKN Authority, Thomas Umbu Pati, when asked about visits to IKN during the Nyepi and Eid al-Fitr 2026 holidays in Sepaku, Penajam Paser Utara, on Wednesday.

Plaza Bhinneka, the IKN Glamping area, and the MBH Reservoir, which provides a green open space atmosphere in the midst of the Nusantara area, will be open throughout the national holidays and can be visited by the general public.

“For the smooth movement of the public, the focus is on security, parking arrangements, and cleanliness of the area as part of services for visitor comfort,” he explained.

This involves various regional security task forces consisting of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), the Indonesian National Police (Polri), and IKN Authority employees, he continued.

The public intending to visit KIPP IKN should comply with regulations such as wearing modest clothing and not smoking, as well as other applicable rules, including in KIPP IKN.

“Officers are asked to remind visitors, and if there are violations, they should be reprimanded humanely first,” said Thomas Umbu Pati, who is also the Deputy Head of the Public Visit Service Team for Nyepi and Eid al-Fitr 2026.

“During the 2025 Christmas holidays and 2026 New Year, around 300,000 general public visitors came to KIPP IKN,” added IKN Authority Spokesperson Troy Pantouw.

The IKN Authority is also preparing various entertainment activities, interactive activities, 20 micro, small, and medium enterprise (UMKM) tents, and health facilities in KIPP IKN to anticipate medical service needs, including emergencies for visitors.

The IKN Authority ensures that the public’s visiting experience is safe, comfortable, and enjoyable, hoping that visitors can feel Indonesia’s new capital as an inclusive public space, while also enjoying moments of togetherness during the holiday period in IKN.

“Comfortable together, all people can enjoy the experience in IKN comfortably, and local residents around also benefit,” said Troy Pantouw.
