Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - The Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), Bahlil Lahadalia, is targeting the national operational fuel oil (BBM) stock to reach 30 days, equivalent to one month.

According to Bahlil, the current national BBM stock resilience is in the range of 21 to 25 days. However, there is an additional supply of around seven days from Karimun, so the government is optimistic that the one-month stock resilience target can be achieved.

He also mentioned that the government is communicating and preparing for additional infrastructure development. The plan is for the construction to begin in May.

“Now there is an additional seven days from Karimun. And this is what we are communicating so that we can reach one month. Anything more than that, we are carrying out construction. In May, God willing, pray for us, we will start the construction,” said Bahlil at the Ministry of ESDM on Friday (10/4/2026).

Meanwhile, the national LPG stock is above 10 days. Therefore, Bahlil assesses that this condition shows Indonesia has passed the critical period related to global dynamics that once affected energy supplies.

Nevertheless, he still asks the public to use BBM and LPG wisely to maintain national energy resilience.

“So actually, I want to convey that the critical period we faced regarding global dynamics for BBM, praise be to God, we have passed. But of course, I ask all the public, we must be wise and prudent in using BBM, including LPG,” he said.

National BBM Stock

The Head of the Downstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Body (BPH Migas), Wahyudi Anas, openly discussed the latest condition of the national BBM supply, both subsidised and non-subsidised BBM types.

In his presentation, for RON 90 BBM or Pertalite, the total national reserve is still at 18.1 days. The reserve stock reaches 1.51 million kilolitres (KL) with daily consumption of 84,038 KL. “This status is still very safe,” explained Wahyudi Anas during a Hearing with Commission VII of the DPR, quoted on Thursday (9/4/2026).

Meanwhile, for non-subsidised BBM such as Pertamax RON 92, it is also in a safe condition with reserves reaching 22.1 days. As for Pertamax Turbo RON 98, it reaches 46.5 days.

“This means that gasoline BBM types are very safe and all situations are distributed and served to the public,” emphasised Wahyudi.

Meanwhile, for subsidised diesel BBM, the stock resilience is still at 16.5 days with national stock reaching 1.57 million KL and daily consumption reaching 95,638 KL. As for Pertamina DEX CN53 stock, it reaches 64.5 days.

“And the BBM stock condition specifically for gasoil and gasoline is indeed very dynamic. Because of public needs as well as to balance the stock that is maintained, we have confirmed with the Pertamina Group that the refineries continue normal production, there are no maintenance activities, so this fluctuating position is well maintained and the condition is indeed very safe,” explained Wahyudi.

Then, specifically for avtur fuel, the stock resilience reaches 28.1 days with national stock reaching 388,626 KL and daily consumption reaching 13,816 KL. “So we can conclude that the national BBM stock resilience is in a safe condition,” stressed Wahyudi.
