National Food Industry Encouraged to Expand Global Market Access
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – The national food and beverage industry continues to be encouraged to expand its access to international markets amid increasingly tight global competition. One such effort is the organisation of the international food business exhibition SIAL Interfood 2026, which will be held from 4-6 November 2026 at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta.
The business-to-business (B2B) exhibition is expected to serve as a space for strengthening international food trade networks while bringing together food and beverage industry players with potential buyers from various countries. The event receives support from the Ministry of Industry and is organised by Seven Event in collaboration with Comexposium.
SIAL Interfood is part of the global SIAL Network, known as one of the world’s benchmarks for food innovation since 1964. Globally, the network records participation from around 17,000 exhibitors and more than 700,000 professional visitors from 205 countries through various events in several regions of the world.
Indonesia has been part of the SIAL network since 2015, targeting the potential market in Southeast Asia. In its inaugural edition, SIAL Interfood was attended by more than 800 companies from 22 countries. This year, the exhibition is again being held in halls B and C at JIExpo Kemayoran.
CEO of the Food and Beverage Division of Comexposium, Rodolphe Lameyse, stated that strengthening the quality of business meetings is the main focus of this year’s organisation. According to him, SIAL continues to affirm its role as a real trade platform for the global food industry by bringing in more professional visitors and strengthening the event’s position in the global market.
“Participants in SIAL Interfood 2026 are said to come from more than 25 countries, covering the Asia-Pacific region, Europe, the Middle East, to China. Various sectors to be showcased include frozen food, the coffee and tea industry, to food processing technology,” said Rodolphe.
In addition to product and technology exhibitions, the event also features several programmes such as SIAL Innovation, International Cooking Competition, Barista Championship, industry seminars, and business matching. These programmes are aimed at strengthening innovation while more effectively connecting business players with potential business partners.
President Director of Seven Event, Andy Wismarsyah, said that the effectiveness of business meetings is the core of organising SIAL Interfood in Indonesia. According to him, the provision of comprehensive facilities and exhibition areas is expected to create real collaborations for the development of the national food and beverage industry.
“Through this organisation, the national food industry is expected to become increasingly competitive in the global market, while opening up space for technology and knowledge exchange among industry players from various countries,” said Andy.
