The government, through the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, has officially opened the National Command Post for the Energy and Mineral Resources sector as a monitoring and coordination centre for energy services ahead of the holiday exodus and Eid al-Fitr celebrations in 2026. The command post is expected to serve as a reference point for information regarding the availability of petroleum, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), electricity, and geological disaster risks throughout the Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr period.

The National Command Post will operate for 20 days, from 12 March to 31 March 2026, and is located at the BPH Migas building in Jakarta. The symbolic opening was conducted by Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Yuliot Tanjung on Thursday, 12 March 2026.

Yuliot Tanjung stated that the National Energy and Mineral Resources Sector Command Post serves as a coordination centre for inter-agency coordination and an information hub for the public and stakeholders to obtain information regarding energy services during the holiday exodus and Eid al-Fitr period. “Nationally, the availability of petroleum and LPG for the needs of Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijri is very adequate,” said Yuliot.

Erika Retnowati, Chair of the National Energy and Mineral Resources Sector Command Post for the Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr 2026 period, emphasised the importance of synergy amongst agencies so that the command post operation runs smoothly and can provide useful information to the public. According to Erika, this synergy is not only conducted internally but also involves various stakeholders such as the Traffic Police Coordination Unit (Korlantas), particularly in anticipating travel route restrictions and potential congestion during the holiday exodus.

During the Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr command post period, BPH Migas together with PT Pertamina (Persero) will activate 125 petroleum terminals, 7,885 petrol stations, and 72 Aircraft Refuelling Facilities (DPPU), and will prepare additional facilities in areas with high energy demand.

Projections for petroleum demand during the command post period indicate that petrol consumption is estimated to increase approximately 12.0 per cent compared to normal conditions, whilst diesel is projected to decline approximately 14.5 per cent. On the other hand, jet fuel demand is projected to increase 2.8 per cent and kerosene to rise approximately 4.2 per cent compared to normal realisation.

For LPG supply, the Directorate General of Oil and Gas together with Pertamina will activate 40 LPG terminals, 757 LPG bulk filling stations (SPBE), and 6,662 LPG agents throughout Indonesia. National LPG stock resilience is estimated to be in the range of 12 to 15 days and is maintained stable during the Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr period.

Pertamina’s Director General, Simon Aloysius Mantiri, assured that the availability of national energy supply, particularly petroleum and LPG, is in a secure condition during Ramadan until Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijri. “Pertamina ensures that the availability of petroleum and LPG stocks are in a secure condition to welcome Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr. We also ensure that services to the public remain optimal through an energy distribution network spread throughout Indonesia,” said Simon.

To ensure energy distribution runs smoothly, Pertamina has also activated a Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr Task Force, which will run from 9 March to 1 April 2026. Various additional services have also been prepared in areas expected to experience an energy consumption surge, such as the Pertamina Delivery Service (PDS) motorist service that can deliver petroleum during congestion, as well as fuel tankers stationed at various strategic points.

In addition, Pertamina continues to monitor global geopolitical dynamics, including the operational conditions of vessels in the Arabian Gulf, whilst diversifying energy supply sources from various regions of the world such as Africa, America, and other regions to ensure that national energy supply resilience remains secure.
