The government has set the Eid al-Fitr prayer for 1 Syawal 1447 Hijriah on Saturday, 21 March 2026. Accordingly, the national-level Eid al-Fitr prayer will be held at Masjid Istiqlal and is open to the general public.

The prayer will commence at 07:00 WIB. Congregants are advised to arrive early to avoid crowds and ensure the smooth conduct of the worship.

“Then for tomorrow’s event, inshallah the Eid prayer for 1447 Hijriah will be led as imam by Dr KH Ahmad Husni Ismail, with deputy imam Ustadz H Ahmad Rofiuddun Mahfudz, and serving as bilal Ustaz AR Harmoko, and second bilal Ustaz Ahmad Achwani,” said Religious Affairs Minister Nassarudin on Friday (20/3/2026).

The lineup of other officials includes deputy imam Ahmad Rofiuddin Mahfudz, as well as bilals Ustaz R Harmoko and Ahmad Achwani.

The management of Masjid Istiqlal also urges congregants to maintain order and devotion during the worship.

Congregants are requested to wear modest clothing and cover their aurat, bring personal prayer equipment, and keep the environment clean.

In addition, congregants are reminded to bring only necessary items and remain vigilant with their belongings. The use of plastic bags to store footwear is recommended to maintain the tidiness of the mosque area.

For entry access, congregants can use several provided gates, including Gerbang Al-Ghaffar from Jalan Perwira, Al-Aziz and Al-Jabbar from the Lapangan Banteng area, Al-Fattah from the direction of Gereja Katedral, as well as Al-Mukmin from Stasiun Gambir and Pasar Baru.

Meanwhile, for congregants bringing private vehicles, the management has prepared several parking points around the Istiqlal area.

These include the mosque’s basement parking area, Gedung Pertamina, the Religious Affairs Ministry office, Lapangan Banteng, and several other public facilities near the location.

This arrangement is expected to support the smooth execution of the national Eid al-Fitr prayer while providing comfort for the public wishing to worship at Southeast Asia’s largest mosque.
