National discipline drive
National discipline drive
From Suara Pembaruan
The national discipline movement has been going on for quite
some time. But we still witness regulations being violated
regularly.
For example, many drivers do not pay attention to traffic
signs. They only take traffic discipline seriously when the
police are around. Some even ignore traffic regulations
altogether, thinking that the police can be bought. This is
evident at Jl. Mangga Besar and Jl. Hayam Wuruk and in other
areas, resulting in traffic jams during busy hours.
Indisciplinary acts and attitudes are still clearly noticed in
many aspects of societal life--the trend of using foreign words,
the need for queuing for public services, etc.
To my fellow countrymen, the post jubilee period should be
used to realize the national discipline movement.
