National Dhikr Echoes Unity Ahead of 81st Indonesian Independence Day

Hundreds of thousands of people from various regions and religious backgrounds attended the National Dhikr and Prayer event at the National Monument (Monas) area, Jakarta, on Saturday night (1/8/2026).

Carrying the theme ‘Sovereign, Just, and Prosperous Indonesia’, the event serves as the opening series for the 81st Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia, while acting as a momentum to strengthen unity and national spirit. Beyond being a spiritual endeavour, the activity is expected to strengthen brotherhood among the community, reinforce the values of tolerance, and foster a sense of nationalism ahead of the Independence Day commemorations.
