National Awakening Day: Prabowo to Attend DPR Plenary Session in Person

President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to attend the DPR RI plenary on Wednesday, 20 May, to deliver the Macro Economic Framework and the Key Fiscal Policy for the RAPBN for the 2026/2027 fiscal year. Prasetyo Hadi, the State Secretary, explained that the timing leverages National Awakening Day to align the nation’s vision across all state institutions, emphasising that inter-institutional synergy is key to safeguarding the national economy at present. He said the choice of date is strategic to reinforce public confidence in the government’s economic foundations and to secure broad support for the fiscal policy going forward. The agenda for the parliamentary session includes: the government’s presentation of the KEM-PPKF RAPBN 2026/2027, a report from the Legislation Body on the second Evaluation of the 2026 Prolegnas amendments, and subsequent decisions and party lines on amendments to the Police Act to be proposed as a DPR bill. The palace-added explanation notes that President Prabowo’s direct delivery is intended to unify national strength as the country faces changing global dynamics. The session is part of the 12th Plenary Meeting of the III Session for the 2025-2026 Congressional Year.
