As a component of the younger generation I don't agree with
Suka Hardjana (Kompas, April 20, 1995), who proposed that the
national anthem Indonesia Raya be revised. In my opinion,
Indonesia Raya is a historical legacy which has patriotic value,
and its authenticity should be preserved.

Suka Hardjana opined that Indonesia Raya has not completely
fulfilled the spirit of the Youth Pledge. In this context we
should be aware that the national anthem was composed in Bahasa
Indonesia, which has a uniting power, and not in local dialect.

So the important thing for all of us is to sing our national
anthem the correct way.
