PANGKALPINANG — Amidst efforts by local governments to provide rapid and investment-friendly public services, the Bangka Belitung Islands Province has made a national surprise. The island province has successfully broken into the national top 10 in the 2026 Assessment of Integrated One-Stop Service (PTSP) and Business Implementation Acceleration (PPB) performance, even surpassing DKI Jakarta and the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY).

This achievement was established through the Decree of the Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) of the Republic of Indonesia Number 204.S of 2026. In the decision signed by the Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of BKPM, Rosan Perkasa Roeslani, on 30 July 2026, the Bangka Belitung Provincial Government achieved a ‘Very Good’ predicate with a score of 89.809, securing 10th place nationally.

The ‘Very Good’ predicate is awarded to local governments that obtain scores between 80 and 100 in the national evaluation of licensing service quality and the acceleration of business implementation. Bangka Belitung’s entry into the ranks of the best regions serves as evidence that investment service reforms in the province are moving in a positive direction.

Under the leadership of Governor Hidayat Arsani, Bangka Belting is able to compete with provinces traditionally known as national investment centres. Notably, Bangka Belitung’s position sits above DKI Jakarta and DIY in this year’s PTSP and PPB performance assessment.

This achievement reflects the commitment of the Bangka Belitung Provincial Government to building professional, transparent, and rapid investment services that provide certainty for business actors. The Head of the Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Agency (DPMPTSP) of Bangka Belitung Province, Hardian, expressed his gratitude for the achievement.

“Alhamdulillah, we are grateful for this very proud achievement. The ‘Very Good’ predicate and 10th national ranking serve as motivation for us to continue improving the quality of investment services in Bangka Belitung,” said Hardian on Saturday (1/8/2026).

He noted that the achievement is significant as it demonstrates that the quality of investment services in Bangka Belitung is competitive with Indonesia’s major provinces. “This achievement is even more special because Bangka Belitung is able to rank above DKI Jakarta and DIY in the 2026 PTSP and PPB performance assessment. My thanks go to the entire Bangka Belitung Provincial Government, the regency/city governments, and all parties who have cooperated to improve the investment climate in Bangka Belitung,” he added.

Hardian emphasised that the award is the result of collective work by all regional apparatus and stakeholders striving to improve service quality for both the community and investors. He ensured that this achievement would serve as a catalyst to continue providing increasingly high-quality public services.

“Moving forward, we are committed to providing services that are increasingly fast, easy, transparent, and high-quality to encourage investment growth and the regional economy,” he concluded.

The PTSP and PPB Performance Assessment is a national evaluation organised by the Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming/BKPM to measure the effectiveness of licensing services and business implementation acceleration across all local governments. The evaluation refers to Presidential Regulation Number 42 of 2020 regarding the Granting of Awards and Imposition of Sanctions to Ministries/Agencies and Local Governments, as well as Minister of Investment/BKPM Regulation Number 2 of 2022.

In addition to being an indicator of success in bureaucratic reform within the investment sector, the results of this assessment also serve as a reference for the Ministry of Finance in providing incentives or imposing sanctions on local governments in accordance with applicable regulations. Bangka Belitung’s inclusion in the ‘Very Good’ group reinforces the region’s competitiveness in attracting investment. With more effective services, the government hopes the business climate in Bangka Belitung will become increasingly conducive, driving investment growth, job creation, and regional economic momentum.
