Nasib Ginting wins chess meet

YOGYAKARTA (JP): Master International Nasib Ginting won the
prestigious men's event at the national chess championships as
team Jakarta took the overall title here yesterday.

Nasib of Jakarta collected 7.5 points to top the rankings
ahead of his teammates Grand Master Edhi Handoko and Ivan
Jonathan who earned six points each.

Jakarta won another three divisions of the six-day competition
through junior men's players Irawan and Erwin Yulianto and junior
women's Lisa Lumongdong. The three chess players were unbeaten
during the championships which fielded 254 participants from 20
provinces throughout the country. (mun)
