NasDem Targets Top Three Finish in 2029 General Election

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Deputy Chairman of the NasDem Party’s Central Executive Board Saan Mustopa said his party has set a target of winning a top-three position in the 2029 General Election.

He said that across three consecutive elections, the NasDem Party has experienced significant increases in votes. However, he acknowledged that political competition will become even tougher going forward.

“We have always seen significant improvement, and we want, in the coming year 2029, for NasDem to be among the top three winners of the General Election,” said Saan while attending the Second Congress and 15th anniversary of Garda Pemuda (GP) NasDem in Jakarta on Tuesday.

Therefore, he said the Second GP NasDem Congress needs to be a moment for cultivating leadership that is principled, credible and innovative, and full of ideas.

“Garda Pemuda NasDem is the backbone of the party. Garda Pemuda is the source, the birthplace of the NasDem Party’s leadership,” he said.

For that reason, he said members must be magnanimous with one another and support each other. He said togetherness and unity must be fostered in order to meet the party’s expectations.

“If we want to be in the top three, then once again our greatest hope lies with the NasDem Party’s Garda Pemuda,” said the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives.

The event was also attended by several other NasDem Party elites, including Deputy Speaker of the People’s Consultative Assembly Lestari Moerdijat, GP NasDem Chairman Prananda Surya Paloh, Chairman of the Party’s Supreme Council Jan Darmadi, the Deputy Head of the Party’s Advisory Council, and Party Secretary-General Hermawi Taslim.
