NasDem Reveals Reason for Sahroni Leading DPR Commission III: Two Terms of Experience
Jakarta — NasDem Party Deputy General Chairman Saan Mustopa has revealed the reasons behind Ahmad Sahroni’s reappointment as Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the House of Representatives (DPR RI). He noted that Sahroni possesses two terms of experience serving on Commission III.
“Mr Sahroni indeed has experience in Commission III of the DPR RI,” Saan told reporters at the Parliamentary Complex on Thursday, 19 February 2026.
Beyond his experience, Ahmad Sahroni was also deemed to possess adequate capabilities to serve as a leader of Commission III.
“Having served two terms as a leader of Commission III, and if today he is reappointed as a leader of Commission III, he indeed has the experience and adequate capability to lead Commission III of the DPR RI,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Speaker of the DPR RI stated that the sanctions imposed on Ahmad Sahroni had been fully served, allowing him to resume his duties as a leader of Commission III.
“The Ethics Council (MKD) has already issued its decision. So if he has been confirmed by the DPR leadership for Commission III, it means that as far as the DPR is concerned, the MKD ruling has been concluded. It has been fully served,” Saan explained.
Ahmad Sahroni has been reinstated as Deputy Chairman of Commission III after previously receiving suspension sanctions from both his party and the House Ethics Council (MKD) over issues that arose some time ago.
Sahroni’s reinstatement as a leader of Commission III was confirmed by DPR RI Deputy Speaker Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, who oversees political, legal, and security affairs. Commission III is responsible for law enforcement matters.
“Can Ahmad Sahroni be approved for appointment as Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the DPR RI?” Dasco asked, receiving approval from Commission III members present at the Parliamentary Complex in Jakarta on Thursday, 19 February 2026.
Dasco stated that the appointment was made after the DPR leadership received a letter from the NasDem Party Faction leadership, numbered F-NasDem/107/DPR RI/II/2026, dated 12 February 2026, regarding the replacement of names for the Deputy Chairman of Commission III, the Budget Committee faction coordinator, and Budget Committee members.
