Eva Stevany Rataba, a member of the House of Representatives (DPR RI) from the NasDem Party, has spoken out after her name appeared in the data of recipients of the Family Hope Programme (PKH) in North Toraja Regency, South Sulawesi.

Her name was listed in decile 4 of the National Socio-Economic Single Data (DTSEN), a category for social assistance recipients.

Eva asserted that she has never received PKH social assistance and never registered herself as a beneficiary.

“I was myself puzzled when I found out my name was recorded in decile 4. That is why, during a meeting of Commission X of the DPR RI with the Central Statistics Agency, I immediately questioned how this could happen and asked that the source and data collection process be examined,” Eva said in a statement on Tuesday, 8 September 2026.

She said she had gone in person to the Social Affairs Office of North Toraja Regency to seek an explanation and ensure the data would be corrected to reflect the actual situation.

“I must also clarify that being recorded in decile 4 does not automatically mean someone has received PKH,” she noted.

“Decile data is a grouping of socio-economic conditions, whereas the determination of social assistance recipients goes through its own separate process and requirements,” Eva explained.

She further stressed that reports claiming she had received PKH assistance are untrue and not in accordance with the facts.

“I hope all parties will not rush to conclusions before carrying out an examination and confirmation with the relevant authorities,” Eva concluded.

As previously reported, Eva Stevany Rataba, a DPR RI member from the NasDem faction, came under scrutiny after information emerged that she was recorded in the data of recipients of the Family Hope Programme (PKH) social assistance in North Toraja, South Sulawesi.

The scrutiny intensified because Eva was said to be listed in decile 4 of the National Socio-Economic Single Data (DTSEN), even though deciles 1 to 4 are the groups prioritised by the government for the distribution of various social assistance programmes.

Deciles are used to group the population according to their level of economic welfare. The system consists of 10 groups, ranging from decile 1, categorised as the very poorest, to decile 10, categorised as the very wealthiest.
