Eva Stevany Rataba, a member of the House of Representatives (DPR RI) from the NasDem faction, has spoken out following widespread reports that she was listed in decile 4 as a recipient of assistance under the Family Hope Programme (PKH). Eva insisted she has never received PKH assistance.

“In connection with the circulating reports regarding my name being listed in the decile 4 group, I need to convey a clarification so that the public receives accurate information and no misunderstanding arises,” Eva said in a statement on Tuesday (8/9/2026).

“I affirm that I have never received social assistance from the Family Hope Programme (PKH) and have never registered myself as a recipient of such social assistance,” she continued.

It is understood that Eva came under the spotlight on social media after her name was alleged to have been included in decile 4 of the National Socio-Economic Single Data (DTSEN). She was also said to be registered as a recipient of PKH social assistance.

Eva said she was baffled when she learned she had been placed in decile 4. She said she immediately raised the matter during a meeting of Commission X of the DPR RI with Statistics Indonesia (BPS).

“I immediately questioned how such a thing could happen, and asked that the source and data collection process be examined,” she said.

The legislator, who represents the South Sumatra III electoral district, has also personally visited the Social Services Office of North Toraja Regency to request an explanation. In addition, she went there to ensure the data would be promptly examined and corrected in accordance with the actual circumstances.

“I must also clarify that being listed in decile 4 does not automatically mean a person has ever received PKH. Decile data is a grouping of socio-economic conditions, whereas the determination of social assistance recipients goes through its own process and requirements,” she explained.

“Therefore, reports or statements claiming that I have ever received PKH assistance are untrue and not in accordance with the facts. I hope all parties will not rush to draw conclusions before conducting examinations and confirmation with the relevant authorities,” she added.

Eva views the incident as a moment to improve the socio-economic data collection system. She said data errors could have an impact on members of the public who genuinely need assistance.

“If even the data of a member of the DPR RI can be wrong, there is certainly a possibility that people who truly need assistance are also experiencing data collection errors. I have therefore asked the relevant agencies to immediately conduct a trace, correct the erroneous data, and ensure that the social assistance data system becomes more accurate, transparent, and accountable,” she said.
