NasDem Hosts Iftar Inviting Political Party Elites to Discuss Supporting Prabowo's Programmes
Jakarta (ANTARA) - NasDem Party Deputy Chairman Saan Mustopa said his party had invited a number of political party elites to a joint iftar gathering, whilst also discussing efforts to ensure the success of President Prabowo Subianto's programmes.
He said the event was an effort to strengthen communication and collaboration amongst various political parties. Those in attendance included 10th and 12th Vice President Jusuf Kalla, Gerindra Party Daily Chairman Sufmi Dasco, PDIP Central Board Chairwoman Puan Maharani, PAN Chairman Zulkifli Hasan, and PKS President Al Muzammil Yusuf.
"We are all thinking about how this government can be assisted going forward to succeed, and how President Prabowo's programmes and policies can be made to work," said Saan after the iftar event at NasDem Tower, Jakarta, on Thursday.
Regarding the discourse on a permanent coalition, he said NasDem affirmed it would remain in the ranks of the governing coalition. Programmes such as the Free Nutritious Meals, Koperasi Merah Putih, and others, he said, would continue to be supported by the NasDem Party.
In addition, he had yet to name any figure the NasDem Party would support for the 2029 presidential election, as the focus remained on the Prabowo government.
"Not yet (discussing the 2029 presidential election); we are still in the context of discussing how we can collectively help this government," he said.
The NasDem Party held the joint iftar on the first day of Ramadan at NasDem Tower, Jakarta, on Thursday, attended by a number of prominent figures including 10th and 12th Vice President Jusuf Kalla, Gerindra Party Daily Chairman Sufmi Dasco, House of Representatives Speaker Puan Maharani, and former Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan.
The main event began at approximately 17:30 Western Indonesian Time after NasDem Party Chairman Surya Paloh arrived at the venue. The iftar was also held together with a number of orphans.
Other political party figures in attendance included PKB Deputy Chairman Jazilul Fawaid, PAN Chairman Zulkifli Hasan, PKS President Al Muzammil Yusuf, Golkar Party Treasurer Sari Yuliati, and other members of the House of Representatives.
